Göteborg krigszon? Svenska företag jobbar på det också

När gangsters lyckas få halva Göteborg avspärrat med bomber och bombatrapper kan det kännas hoppfullt att veta att svenska företag ligger i framkant även inom system för att upptäcka sprängämnen.

Det svenska företaget Portendo har i dagarna lanserat vad man kallar ”den första kommersiella lösningen för att hitta och identifiera dolda bomber på säkert avstånd”.

”The P.Eye’s unique sensitivity enables detection and distinction of most explosive
compounds that may be hidden in cars, bags, bottles or carried by suicide bombers.
The P.Eye technology also enables detection of a number of threatening chemicals,
such as chemical and biological weapons, and toxic spills. The P.Eye is based on
Raman spectroscopy which identifies a wide range of compounds through their specific
signatures. The P.Eye processes the result and delivers a clear and understandable
result minimizing the need for training and special skills. This technology also
enables very accurate readings and limits the chance for false alarms.

The P.Eye technology can be used either as a stand-alone unit or connected to a
network, it works like a surveillance camera. Objects can be followed and zoomed
in on from a remote control centre. By using the built-in laser and spectrometer,
unidentified objects can be analyzed for explosives traces at distances exceeding
50 meters. This world leading performance allows detection of explosives threats
well outside the lethal radius of most Improvised Explosives Devices (IED) such
as car bombs.”

Vad ska man säga? Om vi inte får något nytt FBI eller en dubblad polisiär styrka så kanske det finns en smula trygghet att hämta ifrån företagen. I vilket fall borde Göteborgspolisen beställa några detektorer, kan tyckas.
