Transportkaos leder till upplopp

I The Guardian fanns härom dagen en intressant intervju med Peter Hendry, som ansvarar för Londons trafiksystem:

London could see riots again unless more trains and buses are provided at affordable fares for the poorest communities as the population soars, the city’s transport commissioner has warned. He said the city will face ”overwhelming” overcrowding on its congested transport networks by 2030 without urgent progress on new rail lines.

Det talas ju mycket om hur staden – storstaden – hör framtiden till och är lösningen på många av de problem som idag förknippas med kraftlösa nationalstater. Men storstadens transportutmaningar är givetvis en central problematik.
