Greenpeace chief travels to the office by Aircraft

Det senaste från Greenpeace i The Times idag:

A senior Greenpeace executive commutes to work by plane despite working for an organisation that calls for flights to be restricted because of their contribution to global warming.

Pascal Husting, the international programme director of Greenpeace International, flies 230 miles between his home in Luxembourg and the group’s headquarters in Amsterdam. He has been making the journey several times a month since 2012 after telling colleagues that it would take too long by train.

Greenpeace campaigns aggressively against airport expansion and argues that “the growth in aviation is ruining our chances of stopping dangerous climate change”.

Information published on its website reads: “Flying causes ten times more climate change than taking the train.”

Last week Greenpeace apologised to its supporters for a “series of errors” after it emerged that it had lost £3 million of public donations via currency dealing. Greenpeace dismissed a member of staff, who they said had acted beyond the limits of his authority in trading euros.
