60-talets hits: 1910 Fruitgum Co!

Simon says med 1910 Fruitgum Company från 1968 är bubbelgumpopens egen prototyp. Texten är så usel att man vill skrika. Istället sjunger man med. Den tog sig ända upp till USA-listans fjärde plats (många säger att den låter som Wooly Bully med fantastiska Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs). Självklart blev Simon says en hit i Sverige också. Bakom gruppen låg proucenterna Jerry Kasenetz och Jeff Katz, som kunde stoltsera med hitgrupper som Music Explosion och Ohio Express. 1910 Fruitgum Co fick även hits som 1, 2, 3 Red Light och oförglömliga Goody Goody Gumdrops. The Ramones har sagt att 1010 Fruitgum Co var en stor influens och de gjorde en cover på Indian giver. 1910 Fruitgum Co återbildas så klart då och då och då sjunger alla:
