Jeb Bush, utrikespolitiken och Irakkriget

WASHINGTON Jeb Bush har god fart nu i något slags innerfil i GOP-racet, med mycket press och tecken på stor välvilja bland donatorer.

På onsdagen var det dags för ett stort linjetal, om utrikespolitiken. Ett ämne där han kanske hellre vill blicka mot en president i familjen, George HW Bush, än en annan, George W Bush.

Enligt citat som släpptes före talet (vid lunchtid i Chicago) ska han säga att han älskar sin far och bror men att han är ”my own man.”

Uppdatering: under frågestunden medgav Jeb Bush att ”misstag begåtts” i Irak men att han inte tänkte tugga om kriget, men gjorde det ändå med anklagelsen att Barack Obama inte byggde vidare på den ”surge” hans bror beordrade. Referat i The Hill av hela framträdandet.

Att döma av övriga citat handlar det mer om att hacka på Obama än att lägga fram egna förslag till hur islamismen och andra faror ska bemötas.

Till exempel:
